LandSafe is a training program designed to teach equestrians how to minimize the impact in a fall to reduce the risk of serious or catastrophic injury. The curriculum covers body positioning, body awareness, response techniques, rolling, and impact reduction to protect the head, neck, and body.
Adult Clinic
The adult clinic accommodates 20 participants over the weekend. Participants will be placed into two groups of 10 prior to the clinic. Each group will receive approximately four hours of instruction on Day 1 and another four hours of instruction on Day 2. Our curriculum relies on both one-on-one interaction and group learning. Throughout the two days, every participant receives ample time focusing on multi-directional rolling on the gym mats as well as work on the simulator.
Junior Clinic
This is a 2-day clinic (2 hours per day) geared towards younger riders to help give them the confidence to be dexterous with their reins, go into the brace position, and get round to roll. The Junior clinic holds 10 participants. Participants will do all of the gym mat training that the adult clinic does (on both Day 1 and Day 2) and will use the simulator on Day 2 to reinforce the learned skills.
